Lots going on!

Yesterday - June 3 - was Emily Kay's two month old birthday. She is getting so big and I am loving being her mom. She is one sweet little baby. At two months old she weighs in at 10.5 lbs and is 23 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile in both weight and height. As a gift to her mom on her 2 month birthday she decided to sleep through the night for the first time! YEA! She slept from 9:30 pm until 6:00 am. At six she took a bottle and slept until 7:30. I can get used to this schedule! I'll let you know if this continues.

Sunday was Matthew's family reunion. We headed to Carlisle, MS for some good food and to introduce Emily Kay to her extended family. Emily Kay was passed from one person to the next all day long. She was as happy as she could be. However, when we got home around 5:00 she did not want to be touched. Poor little thing was exhausted!

At the reunion Emily Kay also met another great grandmother!

Last Friday my mom and Matthew's dad made the trip to Birmingham to help us move. Early Saturday morning we (mom, Emily Kay, our dogs, and me) began our trip back home. Emily Kay was a trooper. She slept until Meridian and then she wanted a bottle.

Let me tell you what happened during our stop. We stopped at the Welcome to Mississippi rest stop. My mom walked the dogs and I fed Emily Kay. My mom rolled down the windows and put the dogs back in the car to come inside for a restroom break. During the less than 5 minutes that the dogs were inside the car someone left a note on my windshield informing me of the dangers of leaving dogs in parked cars. I really hope this person saw us walk back outside with a baby and cups of water for the dogs! Lesson of the day - don't judge you never know the whole story.

Back to our trip home - Emily Kay went back to sleep and slept until we pulled into my parent's driveway. Emily Kay's great grandmother was there to meet her.

My mom kept Emily Kay the rest of the day while I helped unload at the Kirk's house.
