Family Beach Pictures

Adelaide has had enough!

And I had to post this one because I think they look so much alike here. I don't normally think Cannon looks like Matthew.

Beach Trip 2011

We went to the beach with my family back in August. We left on Thursday morning and enjoyed the weekend at the beach. The weather was perfect and we really enjoyed the trip. It was a TON of work to actually make it to the beach, but looking at these pictures sure makes it all worth it.

Here's Adelaide trying to figure out all the white stuff. She did not mind the sand on Friday, but then decided on Saturday that she'd had enough. Cannon absolutely hated the sand on Friday, but by Saturday was getting tired of spending all of his time in the pool. At least they took turns!
Emily Kay loved every minute of our trip and we all had so much fun watching her play. She loved the sand and she loved playing in the water.

Cannon and Adelaide spent most of their time in this little pool.

Snack time! They look so big in this picture.

And then there were five...

First day of Preschool

Emily Kay started three year old preschool this Augst. She is at the same place she went for MMO. She had a hard time adjusting to the new structure of "school". They no longer play all morning, now they have work to be completed. It took her about a month to adjust and now she loves going.

12 Months

Cannon and Adelaide are growing and growing! We had their 12 month check up right after their birthday. We got a great report! They both transitioned to milk easily. They both have great appetites. Cannon weighed 26lbs and 12 oz and was in the 80th percenitle for weight. He is 31.5 inches long and in the 90th percentile for height. He is such a sweet boy. He has 4 teeth. He started walking on July 28 just a week shy of being a year old. He loves to play with balls. He can say mama, dada, dog, bye-bye, uh - oh, no- no and nana (banana). He likes to be outside and cries when it's time to come inside. He loves to play rough and to be thrown in the air. He does not like to look at books and the teacher in me is trying my best to change him! He still sucks his thumb when he is sleepy, but not at any other time. He loves to eat any kind of carb (bread, pasta, rice, potato) but is beginning to refuse some vegetables. He is so much fun!

Adelaide weighed 19 lbs and 13 oz and was in the 25th percentile for weight. She is 29.5 inches long and in the 50th percentile for height. She is having trouble walking and turns her right leg in and picks it up in a very unusual way when walking behind a push toy or holding onto your hands. The doctor was not too concerned, she did say the muscle running down the outside of her right leg is very tight. She showed us some ways to stretch it and said it would most likely stretch out on it's own as she began to put more weight on it. We were told to encourage her walking behind the push toy and we'd reevaluate at 15 months. ---- Adelaide walked at 13 months on September 13. Her right leg gets better everyday! ---
She has two teeth and two more on the top are trying to come in. She likes to play with her tea set, play with musical instruments, dance, sing, and look at books. She loves for me to sing "Itsy-bitsy Spider" and she thinks it's so funny to "wash the spider out". She just laughs and laughs. She loves her paci more everyday. She still sleeps with her elephant lovey. She can say da-da, mama, no-no, uh-oh, and dog. She likes to eat fruits and vegetables. She'll eat a few meats and carbs, but they are not her favorite. She is a joy and the sweetest little baby. We are so thankful for our baby B!

Cannon and Adelaide's 1st Birthday!

I can't believe I'm just now getting around to posting about Cannon and Adelaide's first birthday! We have been busy and I have so much I want to blog about so I can remember everything. To be honest, I don't remember much about the last year without looking at video or pictures.

Can you believe it - Matthew and I have TWO 1 year olds?!

We decided to have a Raggedy Ann and Andy themed birthday party. Thanks to several great friends and our families the party was perfect. I had so much fun planning this day to celebrate their first year of life.

The guests of honor. The only picture where they are at least facing the same direction!

My three loves!

The food and cake table.

The adorable smash cakes made by friend Mandi.

The cupcakes also made by Mandi.

More food and cupcakes.

Another view of the table. The precious banner was made by my sweet friend, Nicole.

The party favors. Sigrid and I made heart-shaped sugar cookies.

Time for cake!

Singing Happy Birthday to Cannon.

Adelaide's turn.

Yum! Yum!

Adelaide dug into her cake. She ate and ate and actually cried when I took it away.

Cannon played in his and tried a few bites, but he had more fun making a mess.

After cake and ice cream, we opened gifts. I don't have any pictures of that, but we do have the whole process on video. It was pretty funny and very chaotic. We had to get Emily Kay to come show those babies how to open gifts.

Then it was time for water fun. And here is where I stopped taking pictures. So...thanks to our friends and family who came to celebrate their day. This was truly the fastest year of my life!
