Well, the good news is there is nothing wrong with my camera. The bad news is my computer is messing up our pictures. We'll have to see if it can be fixed. I've decided to go on a post some pictures of Miss Emily Kay, even though they are not of good quality.
She's such a sweet baby and I love being with her. I can not believe how fast she is changing. It seems that everyday she's up to a new trick.
Having fun in her jumperoo at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Playing with Brody and Ella after Brody's baptism.
Trying to sit up!
Watching Baby Einstein and playing in the Excersaucer.
Playing with Auntie Natalie.
Trying out the sippy cup. She didn't like it!
Finding her toes.
Just being sweet. This is how you usually find Emily Kay - on the floor with a toy headed for her mouth.
We are very excited about our 3 day weekend that's coming up and about the first MSU game of the season. We wish everyone a safe and fun Labor Day!

Sad!
I haven't been posting b/c there is something wrong with my camera. Every picture I take turns out like the ones from the last post. Half of the picture is very bright and the other half is dark. I've tried new batteries and taking pictures on every setting. I don't know what to do! If you have any suggestions other than getting a new cameral let me know.
Emily Kay is so much fun these days. She's rolling over both ways and sitting up with the support of her boppy. She's laughing out loud and she LOVES Matthew. She's eating rice cereal, squash, pears, and carrots. She loves the carrots and is not a fan of sweet potatoes. We gave her a sippy cup with apple juice on Sunday, just to see how she would react. She did not like it! I hope to either figure out what's going on with my camera or get a new one soon.
Here is one pic that I was able to make work.
Yuck! Mom, what have you given me?

What have we been doing?
I'm sorry about the quality of these pictures. Don't know what's causing the problem.
Last week I started my job at the First Baptist Church of Madison with the Mother's Day Out program. It really is perfect for us! I only work MWF from 9:00-2:00 and Emily Kay gets to go with me. She stays in the nursery and I work with three year olds. She did great. She is really a social baby. I know that this pic is really silly, but I thought it was so cute that the teacher put the babies' names on the nursery door as if they were in "big" school.
Last Wednesday, I went to get Emily Kay from the nursery around 2:15 to go home. She was the only baby awake and she was in a Jumperoo having the time of her life. She was laughing and squealing. She absolutely loved it. I called to tell Matthew what our baby was up to. He told Grandpa Kirk and that very afternoon Grandpa Kirk went to good ol' Wal-Mart to get Emily Kay her very own Jumperoo (She's not spoiled at all). Then she liked that so much that Matthew and I decided we needed something for her to jump in at our house. So I found an Excersaucer at a consignment shop for $20.
I was so excited because they are like $60 - $80 new. I came home and cleaned/disinfected it and this is the result:
This past weekend The Whatleys came to town. We had a great time visiting with them. Saturday Amy and I took the kiddos to Kid's World. Of course, Emily Kay was way too young to enjoy the activities, but she sure did like strolling around. Then Saturday evening, we went to Amy's parents for dinner and swimming. Emily Kay and Will had a great time.
Whew! Long post. I'll have to be better.

Three Month Pictures
Emily Kay's three month pictures are finally online. I love them. I'm having a very hard time deciding which pictures to order. David Wiggins ,our wedding photographer, took these pictures. When you go to the site, click on the little girl holding the baby. Then go to previews. Go to view images. Click on my name and the password is molly.

Look!
Emily Kay has been rolling over for a little over a week. This is the first time I have caught it with the camera, because she usually decides to roll over when she is by herself.
Step 1 - push yourself up.
Step 2 - work really hard to push up on ONE arm.
Step 3 - throw yourself over and TA - DA you have a roll!
Emily Kay is not a fan of sweet potatoes. She refused to swallow even the smallest bite. We'll keep trying!

Rice Cereal - Yum! Yum!
Emily Kay loves her rice cereal. We mix apple-prune juice with the cereal, so it taste a lot like applesauce. She is getting used to using the spoon, though she thinks she can do by herself. She also doesn't quite understand why there is so little on a spoon. I guess she thinks it should be like a bottle and that the breaks to get a new bite are just ridiculous. Needless to say, she gets very antsy between bites and lets us know! After a meal, she goes straight to sleep. It's hard work!
Look at that cute bow! Yes, my little girl will be a "bow head".
Tonight we'll try a jar of sweet potatoes. We'll see how it goes.

Four Month Check up
We went to the doctor yesterday and got a great report!
Emily Kay's Stats
Weight: 13 lbs. 13 oz. - 50th Percentile
Length: 24.5 inches - 50th Percentile
So I am happy for everyone to know that my baby is NOT Chubby. She's average. Haha!
Anyway, her head circumference (I can't remember the measurement.'ll have to look it up.)is in the 75th percentile. She's got a big ol' head full of smarts!
She gets to begin eating baby food. So we'll see how it goes.

Four Months Old
Emily Kay is four months old today.
I can not believe how much she has changed. She is getting bigger everyday and is such a joy to be around. I love that I get to spend my days with her.
At four months old she is sleeping about 9 - 10 hours each night and is still eating just formula. She can hold her head up really well. She can also push herself up on her arms when laying on her stomach. She has really found her voice and babbles all the time. Her newest trick is shrieking. I am trying not to encourage the shrieking because it is so shrill and hurts my ears. However, she thinks that she is hilarious when she shrieks. Also, she is either chewing on her clothes or her thumb. So, she is constantly soaking wet!
Here is Emily Kay four months ago - about an hour old.
Here she is today as a four month old. Just look at those baby blues! She's still loving that thumb. I hope it's not too hard to break this habit.

Frustrated!
Today is our first day to have Internet at our house and I have tried FOUR times to make a slide show of our beach trip, but for some reason photo bucket won't save the pics. So I'll just post some w/o a slide show.
Cool Baby!
Emily Kay's frilly bathing suit, yes, it's a bathing suit. My mom bought it for her in Seaside and we all thought it was so CUTE!.jpg)
My sweet little baby!
Life is good in the sun tent. This is the best little invention. It kept her shaded and cool.
Getting in a good nap.
Just chillin' with mom. Emily Kay was really good as long as her toes didn't touch the sand, which was really pretty easy since she's not moving on her own.
This is from the night we took pictures on the beach. My mom has many more on her camera. I'll try to post some more of these later. We did get some really good ones of Matthew, Emily Kay, and me.
Emily Kay is loving shopping at the outlet mall. Dad had better watch out!
All of the grandparents talked Matthew and me into giving Emily Kay some rice cereal. At first she wasn't sure what to think, but as soon as she swallowed she gave a big smile.
Emily Kay getting love from her aunts.
I have many more pictures, but I need to give little bit her bottle. Here's one more. You can tell she had a blast!
I promise now that I have Internet access I'll be much better about blogging...Casey and Nicole!
