One month old

Cannon and Adelaide were one month old on Monday, September 6. Their first month is very much a blur now. We got very little sleep and seemed to spend most of our time feeding babies or at the doctor's office. We enjoyed that time but I'm thankful that almost a month later we are all on somewhat of a routine.

Emily Kay adjusted well to the babies, as if they've always been part of our lives. For that I am very thankful. It truly is fun to watch all three of our children grow and change.

Beeba's Birthday

While Kelly and Phil were in town Kelly planned a surprise party for Beeba (Matthew's mom). It was at Keifers. We all had a great time and it was fun to introduce Cannon and Adelaide to several friends.

2010 Football Season

Matthew and I both love football season. We enjoy going to Starkville, tailgating, seeing friends, eating junk food, and cheering on the Bulldogs. We've gotten season tickets every year for the past 4 seasons and before that went as students. This year football season is a little different for the Kirks.

We were both a little bummed to be missing the first game of the season, even though we have the best, most precious reasons to miss out. But we made the best of it.

We called a few friends, fired up the grill and had a great day. Matthew even managed to set the tv up outside so we could enjoy the fabulous weather.

Lazy Days

Well, not really. Our first few weeks were wonderfully crazy. Cannon and Adelaide are both precious, sweet babies. Cannon seemed to have a few tummy issues but he could be consoled easily. Adelaide really enjoyed being in the boppy or swinging.

First Outing

Kelly and Phil came to visit for Labor Day weekend. They came in town Friday evening and we took Cannon and Adelaide on their first official outing. They had been to the doctor's office plenty of times but at 4 weeks old they went out to dinner. We met Beeba, Pa, Kelly, and Phil at Burgers and Blues. Both babies looked precious. Cannon wore an outfit that was Matthew's and Adelaide wore a baby dress of mine. They did great and slept right through dinner.

Aunt Kelly brought Emily Kay a princess crown and wand. She loves them both.

First Day of MMO 2010

In the midst of Cannon and Adelaide coming home, Emily Kay had her first day back to school. She LOVES school and I was so excited to tell her that it was time to start going again. Emily Kay loves her teacher. I'm so thankful for MMO. It gives her chance to play with other two year olds and it gives me a chance to spend time with Adelaide and Cannon.

Two Weeks Old

At two weeks old Cannon weighs 7lbs 5 oz and Adelaide weighs 6lbs 5 oz. They were cleared by their pediatrician for no more weight checks! This means we won't be going back until their 8 week check up. I'm so excited that we won't be packing up and going to the doctor every other day!

Both Cannon and Adelaide are good eaters, it just takes Cannon FOREVER to eat. I don't need to complain, because at least it's taking him forever at home and not in the NICU. They are still very sleepy and spend their time either sleeping or eating. We are enjoying these sweet little bundles.

Also, now that they are two weeks old I'll be on my own during the day. Lolla has to go back to work. We'll see how it goes!
