May has flown by! We've been enjoying the weather and staying busy.

We went to Pepsi Pop.

At the end of the night, Pepsi Pop put on a fireworks show and at first EK was not too sure about them, but she ended up loving them. The next morning she woke up talking about "the sparkles in the sky".

We've had a few tea parties.


We've played outside.


And EK had her last day of MMO for the school year. They had a splash party for her class. They all had a great time. ( I think she looks like Aunt Carrie in this first picture)


* I'll be 25 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I'm feeling pretty good. I feel huge and I'm sure by the end of the pregnancy I'll look and feel like a beached whale. I went to the doctor last Thursday and both babies are doing great. He weighed about 1lb 14oz and she weighed about 1lb 8 oz. They are doing well with gaining weight. I go back in 2 weeks for the glucose test and then I'll begin going every other week! I can't believe it's already time to start going so often. I'm so thankful for these babies and I hope and pray that everything can keep going so well.

First Haircut

As I was uploading pictures to be printed, I realized that I had forgotten to document this important occasion. :)

I took Emily Kay to get her first haircut on her 2nd birthday. I debated over and over in my mind on how short to go. When she was finally in the chair, I just went with a barely noticeable trim. She had crazy ends and we had them all evened out. It does not make her look too grown up, but makes her hair easier to brush.

Finished with cutting and on to styling. (The blow drying with the round brush lasted just long enough for me to snap this picture. Emily Kay was not having it!)

The finished product! They gave her a certificate and gave me her little curls to keep.

Baby A will now be known as John "Cannon" Kirk
John covers just about every male in both mine and Matthew's families. Cannon is an old family name on my side and I just love it. I think that J. Cannon Kirk will look so professional when he grows up.

and

Baby B will now be known as Adelaide Lois Kirk
We chose Adelaide simply because we like it. Lois is my grandmother's middle name and Matthew's grandmother's middle name. I like how it flows together and not to mention her monogram will be beautiful!

And I've decided on their nursery. I'm getting so excited. I think it'll be precious. Here's the fabric.


This will be used for the bumper pads for both babies.

Cannon's crib skirt and bumper ties will be this sage green stripe.

Adelaide's crib skirt and bumper ties will be this rosy pink stripe.


I'm also so excited because I found a sage green glider and ottoman on Craigslist. It's the perfect color and will be comfortable to sit in during all those sleepless night.

20 Weeks

Two weeks ago I went to a maternal - fetal specialist for an in depth ultrasound on the babies. We were told at the beginning of the appointment that they would share their findings at the end of the session. The visit made me very anxious because the nurse and doctor looked at the babies for over an hour without saying anything. When they were finally finished we were told that Baby B (little girl) looked great and perfectly healthy. However, the doctor shared that Baby A had two chroroid plexus cysts on his brain. He said that these cysts can indicate down syndrome or Trisomy 18. He then said that Baby A had no other traits of either genetic disorder. He said that typically when these cysts are seen with no other indicators of genetic disorders they will dissolve on their own by the 24th week. We were told not to worry and sent on our way. Of course, that didn't happen. We shared our news with our families and a few friends. We've all been praying for these cysts to dissolve on their own. I went back today for a routine 20 week check up.

Here's the run down of today's visit :
- Cysts are gone! Baby A's brain looked great. Praise be to God!
- Baby B is definitely a little girl. We can start shopping and planning their nursery.
- They are getting big! Baby A - 15 oz (97th percentile) and Baby B - 13 oz (80th percentile.)
- No good pictures today. They had their hands and feet covering their sweet faces.
- We feel so incredibly blessed!

Now it's time to shop! Here are few things that I've already been given. It really is so fun to get ready for one of each!

My first baby boy outfit to buy. I was so excited to find this at Leap Frog for $7! You can't really tell but except for the white shirt it's baby boy blue.

And I couldn't do a whole post without a picture of the big sister. Emily Kay is a funny little girl. She talks NONSTOP! We love you, baby girl!

Happy Easter

Easter morning started with a visit from the bunny. Emily Kay was so excited to see what he left for her.

She had fun finding the eggs the bunny had hidden.

After finding all the eggs and having a nutritious breakfast consisting of chocolate and fruit snacks, it was time for church. We enjoyed a great Easter service at MUMC with Matthew's family. We came back to our house for a short photo session.



Then we packed up and headed over to La La and Pop's for Easter lunch. But first, more photo ops!

And then Emily Kay was excited to see that the Easter bunny came to La La's house too!

Emily Kay loved this Easter bonnet that La La made for her. Yes, that is an Elmo Easter Egg on her hat!


A quick dress change and Emily Kay looked for more Easter eggs. She's very serious about this egg hunting. She would shake every egg and if she thought it was empty she'd put it back down.


We all enjoyed a delicious lunch with the Combes, the Pitts, and the Harris'. It was a great day!

Emily Kay is officially two! Her birthday was this past Saturday and Matthew's was on Thursday, April 1. We had a joint party for them. Matthew's parents hosted and we had so much fun celebrating these two special people.

We had hamburgers and just enjoyed being together.

After eating and playing outside for a little while, it was time for cake and ice cream. Yum!

La La crouched down to talk to Emily Kay and Emily Kay thought she needed to sit like La La! We thought it was pretty cute.



After awhile everybody began to head home and Emily Kay got to have a dance party with Tia and Carrie. She was having a blast!
Then after a quick bath, she sat down with Great Grandma Maxine to feed her pig. Grandma Maxine gave Emily Kay this piggy bank last year. This pig is only supposed to get dimes and Grandma saves them for EK and then they" feed" the pig together.

Then it was time to head home so the Easter bunny could visit.

Can't believe it's been TWO years since this precious baby entered my life. I remember every detail of April 3. 2008.
